Sustainable Diner

Yearly, one-third of the food produced globally goes to waste, and food waste is the third biggest contributor to climate change. In July 2018, Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club and Pico Sands Hotel partnered with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines to set-up a food waste management system. The system aims to enjoin staff and guests to be more conscious of food resources and waste.

The Final Straw

In April 2018, Pico de Loro Beach & Country Club and Pico Sands Hotel made the shift to paper straws, cups, wooden stirrers, and biodegradable takeaway packs in line with the efforts to eliminate single-use plastic in the property. This proactive measure aims to prevent the disposal of 180,000 plastic straws and 27,000 plastic stirrers each year, contributing significantly to waste reduction. Join us in supporting our sustainability pledge.
